HUSH
An Interactive Dance Performance & Immersive Installation
Overview
HUSH is an immersive performance installation that explores the frailness of the human experience. Inspired by the Tibetan Book of Death, it is segmented into 4 chapters: Infection, Reality, Meditation, and Release. This piece revolves around a dancer who conveys the story behind these four chapters through choreography and his interactions with the environment. He inhabits a cocoon of sheer fabric bathed in light and projected visuals that are generated and animated based on his movements. As the piece progresses, participants witness the ebb and flow of inner turmoil, finding peace through meditation, and eventually the release of fear. This project represents self acceptance in the inevitable process of death.
Production for this piece started in August 2018 and was completed in May 2019.
