Getty Underworld

Getty Villa Projection Mapping

Overview

We collaborated with the Getty team, Mike Patterson, and USC Animation students to create “Getty College Night,” a one-night community event that opens the museum to college students to learn more about the Getty. Inspired by the exhibition Underworld: Imagining the Afterlife, “Getty College Night” welcomes students to leave their daily lives behind and explore the mythology associated with Hades and the other immortals. With the Underworld theme in mind, we designed and animated spooky, but fun, visuals and projection mapped them onto the inner and outer peristyles of the Getty Villa.
